Matthew Anderson is among six players tied for the lead following the opening round of the 2026 RBC Canadian Open on Thursday at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley in Caledon, Ont.
Anderson of Mississauga, Ont., fired a 6-under 64 to join Sahith Theegala, Emiliano Grillo, Eric Cole, Brooks Koepka and Sam Burns atop the leaderboard following the opening round.
Twelve players are tied for seventh at 5-under, including Adam Svensson of Surrey, B.C.

FIRST TEE – CANADA GAME CHANGERS PAVILION
From Thursday to Sunday, families at the RBC Canadian Open can experience the benefits of First Tee – Canada in engaging ways. Parents can bring their children to the Games Changers Pavilion for activities, such as a golf simulator, colouring wall, and Plinko board.
The First Tee – Canada Game Changers Pavilion is located in the Talon Links Family Zone.
First Tee – Canada is the proud beneficiary of the RBC Canadian Open. Launched in 2021, First Tee – Canada is Golf Canada’s youth development program — offered in schools, community centres and at golf facilities — that uses golf as a vehicle to teach youth from all backgrounds valuable life skills.
RBC COMMUNITY JUNIOR GOLF 72’ PUTT CHALLENGE
Spectators can try to repeat history by paying $20 for two attempts at sinking a 72-foot putt. The winners receive a Scotty Cameron putter, while all participants are entered in a draw for a daily YETI prize. All proceeds directly benefit RBC Community Junior Golf, supporting greater inclusion in the sport for young Canadians who would not otherwise have the chance to play.
The putt challenge is located on the 12th green of the Heathlands course, next to the North Admissions.
GOLF CANADA FOUNDATION 50/50 RAFFLE
50/50 tickets, benefiting First Tee – Canada, are on sale online and on-site throughout tournament week. The current take-home prize has almost reached $16,000, and the winner will be announced following the final putt on Sunday, June 14. Learn more or purchase tickets here.
FRIDAY IS RED & WHITE DAY
The tradition returns on Friday with the annual Red and White Day at the RBC Canadian Open. On Friday, June 12, spectators, staff, and fans are encouraged to wear the nation’s colours while cheering on the Canadian contingent chasing a PGA TOUR title on home soil.
On Friday afternoon, fans can catch all the action from the Canada vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina FIFA World Cup soccer match during a special watch party at 3:00 p.m. ET as part of the day’s After Party at The Fare Way featuring The Keg.
DWAYNE GRETZKY AND JAMES BARKER BAND HEADLINE RBC CANADIAN OPEN AFTER PARTY
In addition to world-class golf, fans will be able to enjoy the 2026 RBC Canadian Open After Party headlined by Canada’s greatest party band, Dwayne Gretzky, on Friday, June 12, followed by two-time JUNO Award winner, James Barker Band, on Saturday, June 13. In addition, Alexa Goldie will be opening for the James Barker Band on night two of the RBC Canadian Open After Party at the tournament’s main fan activity hub, The Fare Way featuring The Keg.
The Fare Way featuring The Keg will offer premium food and beverage options and patio experiences and will see an expanded footprint to accommodate more fans during tournament week.
THREE PLACES IN THE 154TH OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP AVAILABLE AT THE RBC CANADIAN OPEN
